1.
What is my hotsync id?
This is a name you gave to your palm pilot when you first
registered it with your computer's palm desktop software. You must
have an assigned hotsync ID in order to generate a personal
registration code. We will not generate codes for palm pilots
which remain unnamed. The hotsync ID is usually some form
of your name. It is essential that you transcribe the ID
EXACTLY including proper puctuation, spacing, capitalization.
Any mismatch will result in a non-functional registration
code.

2.
Where can I find my hotsync id?
You may find your hotsync id on the registration screen of
your EMI application. When you first click on an unregistered
copy of our applications a "registration screen" pops
up.

Your
hotsync id is listed in the middle of the screen. (See above).
You can also find your hotsync id by launching the "Hotsync" application
found in the system folder of your palm pilot. Once launched,
the hotsync id is listed along the top right corner of the
screen.

3. What
do I do if my registration code does not work?
If your code does not work, there are only a few reasons.
The most common is a mismatch of your actual hotsync ID and
the one submitted for registration code generation. Recheck
your hotsync id carefully.
Make note of:
Another
common problem is when users enter a carriage return after
entering their code. Clicking "Register" will result
in a "wrong code".

You
can spot this error if the code you just entered disappears.
The registration code should remain visible until you click "Register"

4.
I lost my registration code, what do I do?
Make sure to keep a copy of your registration code in a safe
place. If you do lose it, login to the website using your registration email addresss and the password you provided. If you forgot your password, enter your email only and your password will be emailed to you. Once you login, click on USER PROFILE to retrieve your codes.

5.
How is my registration code created?
Registration codes are generated using your hotsync ID and
a mathmatical algorithim. Your code is not interchangable
with other peoples code. You may beam the program to others,
but they will get an un-registered copy on their palm pilot.
Depending on the vendor you purchase the application from, there may be a
small delay in creating and verifiying the codes
prior to emailing them to customers. If you purchase these applications at Handango or Palmgear, be prepared to wait
24-48 hours for your code. If you purchase them from our site using Paypal, codes are generated and released immediately after payment.

6.
Why does it take more than 10 seconds to get my code via
email?
See Number 5 above. This is a small operation... ie one person.
I am an Emergency Medicine physician with lots of other responsibilities.
I created these applications to help out my fellow clinicians.
The minimal amount of income I receive is not worth the hassle
of dealing with impatient and irate customers. Please be patient
and I will do my very best to take care of all issues promptly. If you purchased the program from this site using paypal, AND completed the payment process, your codes should be immediately available. If you did not complete the process, even if you paid, there will be a delay. Your account will need to be activated manually. If you purchase the programs from Handango or Palmgear, they will likewise require manual activation. This may take 24-48 hours, please be patient.

7.
Do I need to download the "registered version" from
the website?
No. If you have previously downloaded a "trial version",
or got a copy from a friend via beaming, you do not need
the "registered version". They are all the same
files. The only difference, is that after payment is received,
customers will receive a registration code via email to unlock
the applications.

8.
Can I beam the applications to other people?
Please do! I depend on word of mouth and feedback for improving
and disseminating my products. Please feel free to beam it
around. Follow the directions on each application to ensure
your beamed version work properly. (Peds Rx has three files
to beam.)

9.
What is your update policy?
Currently I am offering all updates for free. I will likely
charge for formulary updates on pedsRx. Applications will
not expire. Customers are responsible for only using up to
date prescribing references. Please check back occasionally
for new versions. Free updates can be installed directly
over old versions.

10.
Where do you get your medical information?
Information for these products comes from several well respected
publications, including:
- Harriett
Lane Handbook
- A
to Z Drug Facts
- Facts
and Comparisons
- Micromedex
- Tintinelli's
- and
yes... epocrates

11.
Who are you? Why did you make these applications?
I am Dan Lemkin, MD - a practicing Emergency Medicine physician.
I trained in Emergency Medicine at the University of Chicago
where I served as the Chief Flight Physician for UCAN-- the air-medical service.
I created these applications for my fellow residents to use while working in the
ED and on the helicopter. They were quite enthusiastic about the programs and
many recommended that I sell them. This is not a major money maker, but I am charging
to justify the time spent managing the website, updating and revising software, and
servicing customers queries and problems.

12.
